Specialists in employment law

The team

L&A Advocaten was founded by Liesbeth Franx and Arlette Putker-Blees in 2008 as a niche employment law firm. The firm has grown into a team of lawyers, a mediator, interns, and working students. The lawyers on our team have earned their stripes in the top tier of large domestic and international law firms. Our many years of experience in commercial law provide a solid foundation for our practice.

Specialists with in-depth expertise

Our lawyers regularly lecture and publish in their areas of expertise.

They’re continuously developing their knowledge through peer consultation, peer review, post-graduate education, and active membership in a wide range of specialist associations.

L&A Advocaten has a solid network of niche firms within and outside employment law, in specialist areas like pension law, tax law, and corporate law. We're happy to share this network with our clients and, where appropriate, join forces with the firms in our network on specific cases.

Solution-focussed mediation

Disputes are increasingly going through mediation to see if a resolution can be found outside the courtroom. For instance, an occupational health doctor may recommend mediation if the employer has a difference of opinion with an employee who’s sick or temporarily incapacitated for work. We have the knowledge and experience to help guide that process.

We're eager to share our knowledge through training courses

We provide training to HR advisers and managers/executives on a range of employment law themes and topics. Examples include building files, guidance on monitoring underperforming employees, summary dismissal, employee participation, setting up a works council, the Wet Normering Topinkomens [Top Income Standardisation Act], legal directors, transgressive behaviour, employment law for English speakers, employment law in fraud cases, and issues around sick employees.

We are here for you
